Also check the signs. Make sure they are actual speed limit signs and not "recomended speed limits"
If all else fails I would also write a nice letter to the chief constable accepting that you were speeding and the associated points but ask the question why the two cars that passed you were not pulled as they were travelling faster than you.

The usual response is "the officer was dealing with you" it's not fair but you are the one they decided to pull.

Yes but the officer wan't dealing with him at that time, as the two other cars passed him before he was pulled over. Now I'm not a trained police pursuit driver but if you are following someone doing 70 in a 50 and someone passes doing 90 then surely they represent the greater risk / offence and are therefore more worthy of your attention.

I realsie the letter will do no good but it may make the guy question his procedures a little...

Pah, Im just gonna take it on the chin. It's my word against his, and who are the courts going to believe???

From the second he came to the car window he had every intention on giving me a ticket, nothing I would have said or done would have changed his mind. He started to write the ticket out as soon as I got in the back of his car. I'm just glad not every copper is like this.
