In the end I installed the router myself while the "engineer" sat on the sofa drinking my tea moaning about how crap their service is.

Too much caffeine today. Sorry.
Agree with all of that except I don't have Sky.For all those reasons.

He he! My moan was about why they don't use basic information in their database to target these offers at folks in a position to take advantage of them and not raise then dash the hopes of us plebs who cannot. It's a good way to breed unrest in the customer base, making me feel second best because of where I live, despite paying almost full whack.

Instead its turned into a kick Sky thread!

One thing I have missed about Ipswich is my virgin cable/ridiculous speed broadband and phone line. Have skyHD+ now and it sucks. Have to pay for BT line for (Orange) broadband. Broadband is free with my phone contract and has been for the last 4 years, thats the ONLY good thing about my current set-up.

So, Sky sucks and BT sucks.

I would consider Sky if they could offer me broadband. Well they do with a disclaimer that I might get 0.25Mb. BT said sorry you cannot have ADSL. since I get 50MB with 5Mb upload I would need a damm good reason to leave virgin despite their expensive packages £45 for broadband and £26 for TV.

Phone? Oh that is VoIP. paying line rental! how 20th century. My average monthly phone bill is about £3

That is the one downside of having Sky is having to have a BT phone line. I pay £12 for a line which doesn't even have a phone connected to it!!

same here tim, i have same as you but with phone as well about 68-70 quid a month all in, sky would maybe be a tenner a month cheaper but back down to 2 meg from 50 if i was lucky, i'll stick with branson.

Oh for the opportunity of being able to change to Virgin cable, its within spitting distance of my house, but Richard Branston Pickle's lot have no plans to extend to this end of town

The Chav's have it in their part of my town, but the well to do's don't. I presume Virgin was hoping Gordo or Dave was going to foot the bill for the cable upgrade

So I'm stuck with Sky, although going to swap to their Broadband & phone, as AOL only gives me 0.6mb download & 0.3 upload, plus I'm paying BT for the phone & line rental

I have zero issues with sky and have been a customer for over 10 years.

I did have cable in my old house and it was crap, freezing all the time etc.

Sky+ rocks, haven't got hd yet as I'm waiting for my old Sony tv to die but it just keeps going.
