Tuono Racing. 2003. A dream twin for me. Came with a race kit. Was about 11k if I remember. Later ones got diluted.

Don't forget about the Honda CX500! Now that was a brutal V-Twin, well brutal on the eye anyway! You should be able to pick up a good one for a couple of quid and a bad one for fifty pee!

A friend down here has a VTR, the noise is gorgeous, the bike looks great and it has a nice feel apparently. He seems to like it despite not being the build for a sports biker really.

My wifey has a friend who had a Tuono and loved it, right up until it was stolen by scumbags. She always raved about power delivery being good. The noise was antisocial at best and down right rude at worst, but don't let that put you off.

Good firestorms are pretty hard to find but even if you do probably a bit too "sporty".

Tuonos are nice but still a bit expensive. Buels are mega but VERY focussed and you seem to only be able to ride one as if you're being chased by machine gun toting baddies at all times.

GS?

Triumph Triples?

I had the same problem, rode loads of stuff and ended up with a naked SV1000. Cost bugger-all to buy and many of the "accessories" such as racks, pillion seat top-box conversions, tanks covers etc are interchangeable with the 650. Apart from that it's pretty different in every other way to the 650 with much better brakes, suspension etc.

However once you've got used to the SV1000 "thrust" you may reconsider keeping the 650 and treat yourself to an IL4 or some other random config instead. Don't know of anyone who actually runs an SV1000 and an SV650 in parallel as not really much point.
