You can suck some out with a syringe and a bit of rubber tube from the filler hole.*

Syringe works. If you don't have one then the easiest way is to crack the oil filter open a touch and let some oil drain out.
If you drain it into a clean container you can put some back in if you drain too much. Don't bother trying to drain a bit out the sump plug. You'll drop the plug, 90% of your oil will fall out and the remaining 10% will run up your sleeve as you try to put the plug back in. ![]() |

Have had the same issue myself - was topping it up after an oil change and overdid it by a tiny bit and that caused the gear shifting all round to be stiff, and making it really hard to get into neutral.
As the others have said, siphon out a bit of oil and it'll sort it ![]() |

That is what mine is doing!!
Almost exactly the same although oil not an issue as it has done it on low oil and normal level. Jambo had a play at it briefly at last yrs AR which sorted it for a while. Mine can go in to neutral on the move if I time everything right. Mine has now also decided that if it isn't getting stuck in gear it shifts perfectly but will cut out when I pull the clutch lever (not great at junctions and roundabouts!!). If you get yours sorted I would be very interested in how and see if it solves my problems! My L0 is currently at almost 19k

Cheers everyone for your input, syphoned off loads of oil (really surprised me how much) and now she's running really nice again.
Plus I also adjust ed the clutch again and fitted my CNC shorty levers this evening as they happened to have arrived today. ![]()

It's easy to drop oil out of the sump plug without losing all of it. Need to keep pressure applied to the plug blocking the hole and angle it to release some out. Then screw it back in.

Just as a side note, too much oil is baaaaaad. Not sure exactly which seals it puts pressure on (maybe rings) but in any case, it starts squeezing through seals and causing damage. Never fill above F when the bike is upright. Sounds like you caught it early enough though.
I've overfilled before and just drain from the sump plug, but I like a good slippy fist.

I have one of these on the boat for draining oil out of the engine. Brilliant bit of kit if you think you might be doing stuff regularly. The last one lasted 10 years being used with petrol, oil and sal****er.
