You can get longer links that lower the rear shock easily enough.

You really need to sit on the bike to see how it feels. Seat hight is only one factor. Bike width, seath width, peg positions, they all affect how easy it is for you to put your foot down.

Also, accept the fact that you're going to feel a bit wobbly at first, whatever bike you get. Experience will improve your bike handling ability while its stationary as well as when its moving

True, i was realy wobbly on the CB when i started, but (apart from not being good at all at doing U-turns on the CB, droped it twice on my leg) i am actualy fine when riding it and comming to a stop. Even easier to stop that the 125s. Thats probably why the instructor still let me ride the CB even though i had droped it while doing the U-turn.

That's for a K3.

The "Mk1" model is about 790-800 I think. I have a 29 inch inside leg and got on with it fine. My GSXR has a seat height of about 810 and it's OK now I've got used to it.

The "gel" seat does give the early SV a lower feeling as it's not quite so wide.
Well i have a 31-32inleg, should not be a real problem. Overall height is 170.

You need to try sitting on an SV while wearing biking clothes too,

these multi coloured romper suits we wear are not like a pair of comfy jeans :P

And as stated before, you will be wobbly on any bike till you learn how they work, and learn the balance, etc

my inside leg is just under 27 but i got a gel seat for my curvy bike and its narrower at the front. so i just sit close to the tank. i can reach down with one foot quite easily, cannot push the bike backwards while sitting on it at all tho, so just get off a nd push it.

the only time i have problem is in high winds when stopped at lights or something the wind always comes from the opposite side to where i have my foot down.

And may i ask how short/tall your are?
I'm just about 5'2 and when I sat on the SV I could just about touch the ground with one tip toe and my other foot was left swinging in the air, and that was with the SV being at a very slight angle too.

I think its the longer links that are being fitted.

Opps, I meant a K3 not a K4.

Hey TSM. I’m just a bit taller than you and found the new CB500f definitely easier to get both feet on the floor with for the vertically challenged than a K4 SV650s, but then I find the SV650s feels lighter so I’m sure it would be easier to get your feet down anyway. Why don’t you ask the guys at Metropolis if you can sit on their display model?
