I would quite like one that supported virtual LANs actually. Me and my next door neighbour plan to share the connection, but would prefer not to see each other's windows machines.

The Zykel is a bit pricey though. I also have a recommendation for Vigor routers.
My mate has a Belkin and thinks that it's cr@p. I've recently bought a Netgear wireless adsl modem/router (with 4 ports) and it seems very good - far better than the 3Com I had before. You can also set up firewall policies on it so that you and your neighbour can't see each other. It also supports VPN.

I've only used it for my PSP and laptop (the router's etherneted to pc), so that's probably why it's behaved

Yep, one client of mine uses the 3Com box with only 1 computer via wireless and reports no problems. The other has it wired to 1 computer which never has a problem but the wireless does.

Problems with models i have used (They are the same internals):
3Com models (3CRWDR100A-72, 3CRWE554G72T)
Belkin (F5D7630uk4A)

Do tell as I've been using this set-up for a month without probs!?
In which case you are VERY lucky! Here's just one thread detailing it's inherent problems: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...=9999~start=40

Even with the firmware upgraded, it's been less than reliable. Anything but the strongest DSL signal can result in long syncronisation times.

I'm guessing that does NOT have a built in ADSL Modem - it's a similar model that I'm using at the moment via a separate cable modem.

On that point, Netgear ADSL Routers, with modem, have model numbers starting with "DG". More info here: http://www.netgear.co.uk/routers_broadband_modem.php

You are correct there BillyC.

WGT634 Cable Router: http://www.netgear.com/products/deta...4U.php?view=hm

Just bought one of the Netgear DG834PN instead of the Zyxel, hope its better than the 3Com.

Yup, sounds familiar... Piece of junk. Plus, the only way to cure it when it drops the connection is to hard reset it by physically pulling the plug. It's like having your web connection run by a 48K Spectrum. We're going to upgrade it to a £5 bit of wire, that's the way of the future.
