that what i do too, if it needs doing do it (if i have the money), i am going to have to make a living out of it soon enough.

the other week my brakes were a bit squeaky and so i went out and got new pads a cleaning products, don't need the pads (14500 miles on orginal front pads!!) yet but a good clean up to get rid of all the winder muck and jobs a goodun. just the rest to do.

i get good practice working on my other 2 bikes and the ones al college

Shim? Rad? All sounds a bit 80's here....

Rad = radiator

Shims are the wee things used to set the valve clearances. They sit under the buckets under the cams. I've never had to change mine, but from stripping down the crap engine I bought, it strikes me that it'd be extremely easy to drop them into the cam chain tunnel...

yeah, you really need a magnet on a stick just in case.

When doing Shims on the Kwak I claimed some of the more rubbish tea towels as my own and did exactly that
