Sort of along similar lines to nutty tart...
To solve your sleeping woes, it's simple. All you have to do, is have a baby, and wait around 18months after it's born. Trust me, you'll have no issues with sleep after all the deprivation you have to go through. :P |

I used to be an Olympic class insomniac, here a few things which help me.
Wear earplugs when I'm in bed (not that Mrs Tricky snores like an asthmatic badger or anything ![]() Also doing some breathing exercises as you're laying in bed. Take long slow deep breathes in, and then exhale again slowly, as you breath out try and imaging your self deflating (like a Lilo or something). If you cant sleep get up and have a little snack, the act of preparing the snack takes your mind of the fact you can't sleep, also I always feel a little sleepy after a meal. Get up and sleep somewhere else, I know this sound s daft but it seems to work. Sometimes I can lie awake in bed for hours, get up, go and lay on the spare bed or the settee and be out like a light. Hope some of this helps, sweet dreams ! |

I usually find a good bedroom workout, roll over, fart, and out like a light

I really cant sleep, never have done properly. No point telling me to relax as its not that - I really am very happy with my life atm, there really isnt anything I am conciously aware of stressing me other than the fact I simply can not sleep. Ive tried yoga, breathing exercises, lavendar, hypnosis, practically everything possible [even changed matress/pillows/moved bed etc]. Eating doesnt work - the release of energy means I wake up rather than get dozy. I need 3 nytol one a nights to work and Id rather not be constantly overdosing on them. The only other things that work are prescription sleeping tablets which the doctor reluctantly gives to me on occasion as theyre convinced Im addicted to them. ![]() ![]() The problem with alcohol is you develop a tolerance for it if you rely on it constantly to sleep so need more and more. Been at the stage where a bottle of wine no longer works. ![]() End of the day the doctors have told me my body clock is shot to pieces. Would be ideal for working nights tbh but this not sleeping malarkey is killing me again atm. ![]() Full sympathy for you BBC, it really is hell when you cant sleep. You can get a radox lavendar spray from most chemists btw if you need something before Nutty sends some down. |

Try the white chestnut Bach flower remedy. Cazza recommended it to me and it works a treat for stopping the mind doing overtime either when you can't get to sleep or when you wake up and your head's going "I can't sleep!". You can get it in Boots. And no drowsiness in the morning either.
