I'm shocked that so many people have CCTV at home!
It's a sad, sorry state of affairs.....

according to the old bill you can only watch your own property and not view your street, thats what they told me.

Got same sytem except we have 2 camers, one watching the back door/back entrance, one watching the gate/garage.
For the garage one we have a movement sensored floodlight which stays on for 5 mins so if anyone does walk round there you can see.

After the last (2nd) theft attempt on my bike and a couple of break in's I've specced out a CCTV system that will be going in next pay cheque.

2x Colour+Night Cameras
Digital Recorder and Remote IP Viewing/Control of cameras
Motion sensetive with alarm when it detects motion so I can go take a look.

Tempted to go for the PC Version instead so I can also stream a copy off to a remote store via the net so that even if they break into the house and take everything the video evidence is safe

Sad that I have to do it but thats the world we live in.

Also going to get Active Tracker fitted to my bike so the moment it's moved without my knowing its tracked and the tracker call center guide the police to it before I even realise it's gone

Thought I'd let you know on what I decided in the end.

Unfortunately the spare PC I had wasn't working in the end so couldn't go for the PC Version of CCTV.

I decided to go for a DVR and 3 Cameras. Got a DVR from Nabishi for £174 with no Hard Drive installed (but I am ok with that as I have a spare). The DVR can be put on the LAN and hence you can view the cameras from the web and at the same time take backups through the network on a CD or DVD.

Went for 3 Cameras, all 3 are night vision as well. 1 will watch the bike, 1 the communal car park at the rear and 1 inside the house that will cover living room and kitchen(patio door).

The cameras with cabling and power supply went to about £300. So now I cannot get anything else for the bike until I pay that off
