You don't need to take the rad off. Just undo the lower mount, hinge it forward and use a wood block to keep it there.

A fenda-extenda alone (Pyramid Plastics) sorted my curvy's wet behaviour. I have been out in some truly horrible weather now, for many hours at a time, and not had a misfire.

Maplin part number RE90X, it's a thick, waterproof, nonconductive silicon grease. First make sure it's all dry, then spread around and behind the seal on the end of the plug lead, and squidge it in. Make sure it's seated right in. Once you've done this, you can cross rivers But, if your plug boot's damaged or not seated right it'll not help.

SV650Racer's right that clearing the drain hole, if it's blocked, can help. It's not a total fix though in my experience, no use in realyl heavy conditions- the plug doesn't have to be full of water, just sufficiently wet, the drain hole helps this but once it's wet it's wet and draining water away doesn't help much.

I did a quick fix on my curvy for long wet motorway commutes, I changed the boot for an R1 boot and its not missed a beat since (was a mechanics idea and it worked). Plenty of grease too.

Blueflame was riding a pointy when it happened to him, and it broke his spine Pride and falls my friend, pride and falls. The same fault happens to all the SV650s. Not to Raptors though, since Cagiva redesigned the boot.
