The wheel came off of a 600 bandit that has been used as a stunt bike other than that i don`t know any history of mods, is there any way i can tell if it`s a 600 rear or a 1200 rear?

The wheel size is denoted by a dot no. If it is the 1200 it should be dot 5.50 if it is the 600 it should be dot 4.50

Also the 1200 rear isn't a striaght swap you need a spacer kit and a modified calliper hanger!

cheers mate i`ll check the wheel tomorrow, as for spacers i`ve got about 4 different bikes in my garage so i mixed n matched til it fitted perfectly and the caliper bracket you only need to take about 1 mm taken off with a file to prevent it from catching the disc

A GSXR750L rear wheel fits with not a lot of bother too, it's almost the same item as a Bandit 1200s.

With a little work you can also fit a GSXR750L front wheel, but the disc offset is wrong so some other Suzuki ones have to be used, but I can't remember which ones.

That's me nicely sorted for some spare wheels to put my full wet race tyres onto ...until I decide to put a GSXR K3/4 front end in.

Update. So it turns out that it is a 1200 wheel, although i haven`t done many miles with the new rear (been on holiday for a week) it`s seems pretty good, front end comes up a lot more when pulling away and it feels a lot more planted in corners. Saying that and as i mentioned it`s only temp and i will be going back to the 160 rear once my brother gets me a set of BT020`s for £150
