Caring is one thing but I know for a fact my mam used to (and still does to an extent) have a very set idea in her head about what I should and shouldn't be doing. She still likes to point out to me what is and what isn't a man's/woman's car for example...

I just take it with a pinch of salt now though, I know that most of what she says is just her maternal ways kicking in so yes you be right there, but she is still very set in her opinions when it comes to 'acting like a lady should'

Luckily all the girls i've seen have had no interest in bikes at all. You can hardly escape them if you glance in your mirror and there they are, let alone as ballast on the pillion seat.

Having said that, if they enjoyed cleaning the bike(like Lissa) then i wouldn't have any complaints.

A toy-boy is something an older woman has if the bloke she is seeing is very young...

A TOM-BOY is a girl who does stereotypically 'boys' things.

Mmkay?

Personally I think if some of you blokes can put up posts whining about the women in your lives then the girlies are perfectly within their rights to post something like this when something in their life sparks it off.

If you think laMon's bleating unnecessarily, in her defense and as an example some comments I've had about starting up my women's rugby team has had it's fair share of sexist crap and oddly enough only ever from those outside the rugby fraternity.

Ping I also posted something about explaining WHY?

It happens that no one ever could keep up with the pace of my life...don't know why?

...and THEN there're the comments I get from some blokes about drinking pints.

Why exactly should I choose to go to the bar twice for a half each time when I can just get a pint once? Spread that out across the whole evening and I'd spend most of my time at the bar waiting to be served. Yay.

I don't make a song and dance about being a girl and drinking pints. THEY do.

In fact I reckon the majority of us don't make a song and dance about being girls and doing 'boys' things, it's the people who make the comments about it.

I have to admit i wouldn't usually buy a woman a pint.

Surely you really want some sot of white wine fruit based drink?

That is so untrue - hunting and racing are dominated by men, showjumping, eventing and dressage are approx 50/50

Personally, I hate femminism...

... and chauvenism...

... I prefer 'personalism'. Do what you want to do, be who you want to be, and never accept being labeled unless it is with your own name.

But, this goes hand in hand with letting others do the same, like it or not.
