I notice he's got a different swingarm that allows the pipework to go inside it - that's always been the problem for me with underseat cans on the SV, as the pipework goes round the outside.

Any idea what swingarm it is?

Judging by the weld behind the foot peg I would say it is a custom one (made with a mix of OEM components).

Ah ok...I had thought you got those welds on OEM ones too - like near the chain adjusters - but I've not exactly been looking

A shame, cos that would be a pretty good mod if there was a swingarm out there that would just fit on, and allow rerouting of the pipework.

What would be the point, sure it'd look cool to some but for the cost you could have a decent braced swingarm and a proper performance system

Just to clarify, I mean if it was an OEM swingarm from another bike, rather than a custom/aftermarket swingarm (OEM ones you'd expect to find cheap on Ebay, etc).

I'd do it, though, and purely for the looks - every time I see an SV with the pipework going round the outside of the swingarm it makes me cringe

Tinkering is good

Looks a bit like the SVthou swingarm to me, could that be the thou and not the 650?

These are the best pictures a quick Google gives me...indeed it does look similar (e.g. the welds mentioned earlier seem to be in the same place?). The first pic is especially interesting as it shows a little more of how much space is actually there (there's obviously one pipe going there already, but the modded SV has 2).

P.s. I initially thought the rear wheel didn't look wide enough to be a 180, but in all honesty no-one's gonna fit the 160 wheel with a swingarm that takes 180 as standard, are they? So that idea's out the window...and it could be either (650 or 1000) IMO. Need someone to spot something else on the bike to be sure - I am not an expert
