I've seen two different hand guards on V-stroms, one is smaller than the other. I prefer the smaller one. Anyone know anymore about this? Where do I buy them at the Suzuki dealer? or is there another (online/ebay) shop?

I have today ordered the V-Strom 650's hand guards at Robinson's Foundry. £34 without postage, £36 something incl. They're sending them out today. Very friendly and helpful people.

How did you get on with the bark busters?

I like the fit of the V-strom (going by photies) but prefer the style of actual SM type guards.....

Received them yesterday, a friend put them on today, that's quick. Here they are.

Neat, might have to invest in a pair for winter, will look a bit odd on a faired pointy but ah well, will keep my hands warm. Easy enough to take off for summer I assume?

I've used the DL650 ones for the last 3 winters on a naked curvy 650 and a naked pointy thou. Rode through the winters with a combination of summer gloves, oxford heated grips and the DL guards. Would never consider anything else to be honest. they go on in 20 mis and come off again just as quick in the spring.

Also if you leave the fancy brake leaver bolt in when the guards are off it gives you a handy mounting point for a bullet cam.

There is a problem with the clutch pivot fixing bolt on the left hand side on the thou as I guess they hydrolics are a bit different to the fixings for the cable operated 650 but a cable tie sorts it all out and if I were overly bothered about looks I'd not have got a pointy in the first place so a rogue cabletie is not going to upset me too much for a few months.

If you've got a curvy, you'll need to be a bit careful with the choke as I remember mine got fouled by something at some point with the guards, but it's dead east to shift the switchgear along a bit to overcome any fitment issues.

I am reviving this thread because winter seem to be here already and I was wondering if anyone fitted these guards to one of those pointy comfort kits?

Event with the heated grips, tips of the fingers still freeze and I think these could come in very handy.
