Never failed to seal the hole. The second I can't get on with. I have used it 2nd before. I found it a right bugger to do. Also I have called out the AA who have before used the 2nd type to fix my puncture but it still leaked. You have to make such a big hole to fit the bung in, if it goes wrong, your stuffed and then you WILL need to replace the tyre. Once you have the sticky string kit, all you have to do is just buy replacement strips. I buy them from Ebay dead cheap. |

Anyone know of any good videos demonstrating the use of the sticky string/tyre repair in general? I've not yet (touch wood) needed to use it, but I have a fear that without seeing it being done, I'll struggle when it comes to do it for the first time and could potentially balls up an otherwise salvagable tyre. On a related note, do you reckon it is worth intentionally puncturing a worn out tyre prior to replacing it as a "trial run" before I need to do it for real?

Well best to get your use of knackered tyres, either by plugging it, or doing a big burnout... or even plug it, and then do a big burnout

I've removed the wheel, ready for repair tomorrow, however, I think it'll be a non repair as it is slap bang in the middle of a land/sea boarder
![]() Had to ride the gf's bike today, and despite it being an SV of identical type and year, I cant stand it, I might as well be riding a camel! |

Almost had 2 this year, both times the garage pulled it out (one nail, one piece of glass) and it hadn't gone all the way through so was fine. Before that (i.e. ever), 2 - 1 front 1 rear.
