tbh it doesn't sound like the kind of friendship worth losing a year's no claims over...
as for crashing sucking... yeah, tell me about it ![]()

Nail. Head. A shame.
It doesn't matter if he claims or not, he takes the hit because he's the one whose insurance is paying out. Hopefully. |

Hey Haggis,
I'm gutted to hear about your accident. I'll keep my gub shut about your mate's part in it and his post-smash attitude..........BUT........... ![]() One thing to check is your house insurance. When I had my smash someone asked me if I had "personal belongings cover" on my home insurance. I did and I got all my gear replaced. I claimed for everything that was damaged even though it was only my lid and boots that were screwed. Take it easy and keep your chin up. Fred

I did consider the home contents cover, need to look into it. My bike cover doesnt include gear, it had a £100 excess and a £35 premium. Doesn't seem so steep now!

Scary stuff Haggis. So glad you're both still alive and kicking (well almost).
I would report the whole story to the insurance company and let them decide who's at fault. May take some time but if you're fully comp, then you should get a quick payout before blame is attributed. |

Haggis,Thats what we pay insurance for,let them sort it out. If you are fully comp your insurance will sort your bike out and fight your corner for you.
Signaling and turning across the path of an approaching vehicle without proper observation seems like your insurance has a good case Household insurance has a lot of interesting little clauses protecting you for eventualities. My insurance is taking the other party to court for my BMW lid and protective clothing through the legal protection part of my insurance. |

sorry to hear about this ang glad you're o.k. from what you described he had pulled off the main carriage way and was therefore pulling back on to the road, this puts the onus on him to make sure no vehicles are approaching. Friend or not he was at fault and your insurers should fight to get the cost of repair from his. Hope it all gets sorted for you o.k.
