Someone I know bought an ex police bike and it still has the colours on but not the writing. Also has the lights and siren still fitted but not wired in.
Now thats too tempting

I've been stopped for that wearing my normal high-vis (ex police jacket, just yellow/black though). At the time, my jacket did say "POLITE" on it, but I was, honest.

Oh, and I was also riding a white bike at the time. The officer actualy pulled me over after filtering past him. But luckily for me he saw the funny side.

It does, makes a huge difference does a high vis vest.

Fealt like a proper rodney wearing it, but it did make a huge difference. Not only that, but it also acted as an initial "water barrier" in hard rainfall which stoped it soaking through as quickly.

I remember a guy on a white Pan Euro a few years back. Lots of blue/yellow "police" colour scheme, but hadn't actually written "POLICE" on the bike, just everything else. White lid, the lot.

I was very weary, riding at legal speeds etc.. Till he pulled up next to me and I saw the bike closer. I asked him and he just winked and said "it does the job"

I was never worried again, but boy did people move out the way quickly. Fine for me, i'll just slot in behined him

I bought a SV which came with blue LED's.
When I hit full beam and the blues came on people did tend to shift quite rapidly, I loved it .

As a side note it was interesting to see that as you rolled the throttle on and off the lights would dim and brighten corrispondingly

Candy blue SV650s pointy, I miss her

I filtered between a couple of cars at the lights over the weekend, warned my pillion and gave it some beans to make sure I didn't get in the way of either of them (being the nice person that I am) but didn't appreciate the extra weight at the back of the bike.
I wheelied from standstill all the way across a 4 lane traffic light box , hit second, dropped the front gently and shot off to NSL giggling like a loon heh. I think it must have looked pretty cool but I suspect every car driver was calling me a tw@, hey ho, its nice to get to the front of a queue

Fortunately had a very understanding/foolhardy pillion too so that was good!

There's a guy I see most days like that, and he's recently added some blue LED strips on the front of his battenburg Pan. Bit of a tit if you ask me. I do wear a hi-viz jacket in dull or wet weather, but he's obviously trying to look as much as possible like a police officer.
