I never found anything that felt comfortable, hence why I dont bother and go commando.

You wanna be trying to find something that has no seams in the crotch area as they'll rub you and thats when you'll get sore...

What I might be inclined to do is get pair of these or similar

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/dh...ts/5360021960/

and then wear whatever you are planning to wear over the top, so treat the undershorts like a pair of underpants, if that makes sense ?

The Specialized Body Geometry saddles come in different widths to suit the width of your sit bones, my old saddle was a bit too narrow so my sit bones wern't supported properly. The first few rides I was extreamly tender where my sit bones were.

Changed to a wider saddle did improve things.

Some specialized dealers have a device for measuring the width of your sit bones, but I guess you can guesstimate it

Oh and this stuff

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/As...am/5360031286/

Is bl**dy brilliant, stops chaffage / getting sore etc etc, its a bit pricey but its the best of the ones I've tried.

Its a giro pave', Ive got the carbon, titanium and "italian" leather one at just under £80... BUT.... you can pick up a cromoly one for about £30.

Best thing to do is go to a bike shop and sit on some of the higher spec bikes, get a test ride, theyre not to know your just testing the saddle

I've just upgraded my frame to this one I picked up on EBAY for a steal. It's got carbon seat stays which should take the sting out of the road. Plus I'll get a carbon seat post which should help even more

I've got to swap all the components off my bike first, but it'll build up into a nice bike for little or no money. This frame was £1000 new
