a bit off topic, but I never display tax on my bikes. Whenever I have in the past it has gone missing...hmmmm. anyway, I've never had any issues from old bill about it. They are taxed, I just keep the disk at home. If you were unfortunate enough to get some jobsworth who wanted to fine you, I guess you could always try the old - oh, it must have just fallen off, I'm sure it was there this morning...Might work...

Against a jobs worth probably not but more chance of being believed if the bit that attaches to the bike is still there, all rusty like

Not a problem on my bikes. There are many such bits lookin a bit rusty with bolts mising - take your pick officer, it was on one of those, honest
