No, just mask them up, to stop the paint getting where it shouldn't

you don't have to but you might damage them taking them out so it might be worth buying a set, you only need to remove them if your getting the wheels powder coated as they will put the wheels in an oven and anything non metal i.e. you tyre valves ect will melt, the bearings have plastic seals

Ahhhh! I think I'm alright then! I'm on laquering stage now, 2 coats down. I've still got to the the front wheel, gotta figure out how I'm going to keep the bike up (I have read ways of doing so, just must decide) Or to save the hassle, I might just get the front wheel done professionally.. I don't THINK I've ruined the bearings, but what should I look out for when riding the bike again afterwards?

i take it you have a paddock stand, when the bike is on the paddock stand you can use a car jack under the motor to lift the front off the ground. Takes a bit of trial and error to find the balance point but its perfectly safe, I've had the bike left on one for over a month with no front end or wheels...... place a cloth or soemthing on the jack plate otherwise you'll scratch the engine AND!! the balance point should be just behind teh oil filter so be careful you don't crush it

the bearings may be ok if you spray over them as they're sealed but its still not advised to do so . A good habit to start is to grease the bearings and spindle every time you have the wheels off, just remember how fast they spin ect on motorways best to keep them greased
