I built my last PC with my only previous experience being adding a bit more RAM. Just did lots of research on the components and made sure they were all compatible, then I printed off some online guides and followed them for the installation.

Everything went very smoothly, obviously a bit nervous as it was the first time I had ever done it but I didnt have any problems and I ended up with a top notch system for a lot less than buying one pre-made.

I've had a look through the directory and I can't find anyone here at Dell called KeithD.

If any of you like playing games you might be interested in one of our Alienware desktops... http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/to...hs1&l=en&s=dhs

They look amazing in the flesh!

Yes they look nice but the cheapEst one there looks like the same spec as the dell I listed at half the price, I do like the dell, will price up the dells components and see how much cheaper it will be

^ lots cheaper because they use lesser quality parts than most of the components you can buy separately

worked out with the dell spec and it worked out like £40 cheaper using my existing dvd and cd players etc, so might just get the dell, ive only heard good things about dell, unless someone else has had any issues

The problem that ive found with systems from companies like Dell is they are difficult to add to in the future.

All you have to do is buy a new case. Problem solved.

well ive gone off the dell totally, when i talked to them they said the one i was looking at was not good for games as the power supply is low and said the only one they sell is 700+, ive found some decent ones from a guy that makes them like:

http://www.tonyscomputers.org.uk/our...Gaming-PC.html

now the problem i have is the more i read about things the more i upgrade different parts, so what was spening 500-550 is now about 650, but a dam good pc

Dont buy a delil, err i mean a Dell PC.

For a BIG nultinational, thier office based PC are ok for just that. Sure they bought Alienware and promised to keep thier hands off it (hahahahahahahahahahaha, did they heck).

I would invest 5 or 6 quid in the latest CustomPC magazine, it gives you good budget, middle of the road and insane builds, from the case up.

A games PC is a work pf art (lol) expect yourself to always wish you had another couple of hundred to toss at it.
