Where do you get actual turpentine these days rather than paraffin? I've never seen it

you can get the proper stuff that is distilled from sap/resin from artists shops.

anything that says genuine turpentine is the real deal, substitute is petroleum based. i think even b&q sell the real stuff but it's not cheep.

Yep bilbo the real stuffs its not cheap but dam good. Any decent independant hardware store too. Leave it to soak on the adhesive and rub with a cloth or soft wood.
I use it, if i havent got any borrowed industrial cleaner from work
