Will someone please explain to this man the difference between a motorcycle engine, and a car engine... wet clutches etc, and how this affects the choice of oil...

most car oils including GTX have friction inhibitors in them. Fine for cars with seperate gearboxs, but can cause major clutch slipping with bikes, as the gearbox uses the same oil. Dry clutches obviously don't (like ducatis). Just use a decent semi-synth bike oil.

this is good it meand the air box probably hasnt filled with oil yet and isnt going directly into your engine. i have seen it b4 when comeone over filled their oil level and when they stopped and put the bike on sidestand the left cylinder filled with oil and locked the motor. be carefull not to do this it can be quite expensive! also use a bike grade oil as generally bikes rev harder than cars so the oil is designed to take trhis into consideration not to mention the anti friction agents<eek>

Of course it still works - you've just changed it for a new one when you filled with oil, right!!??
