Mate of mine did his with dog bones and I few inchs of metal between the rear sub frame and the front frame under the seat.. You can kind of make it out in this pic.

You can also leave the rear as it is and drop the front forks through the Yokes. Has the same effect. Quicker steer in and sportier looks. And you don't need new parts.
