got lowers off, its seeping from the round casing the one with the oil filler screw on i think i need a new seal/gasket, not the whole casing, but is still showing plenty in window,so i think i will just keep an eye on it until i change the oil in 2000 miles

1 down ????? to go

That'll be the clutch cover then, so no major supprises there. You can try a new gasket but it's been a bit of a weak spot, perhaps some additional sealent would help?

Sometimes a bit of Hylomar blue (gasket seal) does the job. Sometimes it doesn't. I used it on my SV and it held for a while. It's just one of those things. It was only a small drip so I just kept an eye on the level. It seems that once it starts leaking at the cover there ain't much you can do about it.

I just replaced the o-ring, sorted. But that doesn't always work. One thing I've heard a few people say is that it starts to leak, so they tighten it, then it starts again and it turns out the casing's warped- pointing no fingers, but that suggests overtightening to me...

I have been told that if you do it on the side-stand you can remove the cover with-out touching the oil.

May loose a little bit, but this is generally correct.

In this case, when I said "a few people" it was to protect the guilty
