Not only have I not had any (useful) help with what I originally asked, but I am also now confused about whether giro forces can be cancelled out, something I had never previously thought about.

Herewith proof that the thread was totally hijacked and the original intention was lost

The wheels I wanted (to look at, not buy - I have more taste than money!) had nothing to do with giro forces, they were what they were for looks alone - very beautiful from an engineering point of view.

Well to satisfy my own curiosity, I got hold of two identical gyros and connected them together so they would spin in a common plane. When they were spinning in the same direction, the precession was greater. When they were spinning in opposite directions the precession was indeed cancelled.

So now you know.

Also, sdusk - very interesting experiment - has totally disproved one org member who seemed like they knew what they were talking about (not a criticism, I cannot even remember who it was), but you really must have far too much time on your hands
