the speed triple is nice, but for a simlar price you cant get a better quality il4 or v. im sticking with my 650 just for fun, but i want a bigger capacity purely for longer distances. on the sv it is no fun at all. and dual carriagway work is dull when evertaking is concerned. how much cost difference is there in terms of insurance? im paying 350 for the 650 at the mo.

i have 3 points, and also crashed last year, went into the back of some fool showing off in his lotus. if i didnt have the incedent, then it would be 180 this year, becasue i would ahve had 4 years no claims, thats including the penalty points. without the points is 160. i now only have 1 year no claims as well which sucks.

If I was you I would stick to the SV650. Sounds like your chances of survival would be better! I got rid of my blade because it was all gonna end in tears. Seriously though, I was out last night and although I miss the top end rush sometimes, there wasn't much on the road that I couldn't leave standing. The little naked Sv will sit at 95 no problem, and the lack of wind protection protects your licence

i can control larger bikes fine. i ride a 1200 bandit often, which allways makes me want to get a larger bike purely for overtaking manuveors are made so much easier and safer when on dual carridgeways. you dont get the engine screaming for help when overtaking at 90+. it would have to be a fully naked bike as well. not so keen on all this fairing malarky. take it like a man!!

What about a Buell lightening or firebolt? You've got the oomph and you can chuck em around corners quickly and easily.

have merrily cruised the SV at 95 (private road of course) .... mine seems happy enough there... apart from the wind blast. Next accessory a double bubble. If I can be bothered. Or a throttle mod...
Or a CBR6.??? Nah...Like the twin in town too much Have fun with the thous.... ![]() |
