It does the same thing, still makes the statement I made earlier relevant in that it offers no performance increase!

Someone should really look at fabricating some kind of sump mod, problem solved.

I'm not that ar$ed personally, mainly I guess cos I can't wheelie, but it doesn't really float my boat. I can still appreciate a good wheelie though as it does look pretty cool, but in the right circumstances ie not in traffic on public roads. Bikers can get enough grief just riding normally.

I can't imagine popping poor, tiny wheelies (see my avatar)- which is all you'd be doing as a n00b- does much harm to the engine. The bike is more "up in the air" (in relation to gravity) going up a steep hill than when the front is only up 2 foot. I can see that if you're some stunt master who rides two miles with the bike up at 12 o'clock you're going to have a problem, but in the context of a "I just fancy giving wheelieing a go and want to know if the engine is going to burst into flames the second the front wheel leaves the ground", which is what the inital post says to me, I'd say there's nothing to worry about.

None of the above is BASAT and is just based on my own experiences of not getting engine trouble after popping a few small wheelies every now and then (in a deserted car park, seriously).

I've been known to have the front wheel a bit light on more than a few occasions. Bike is now on 60k with no repairs needed to the engine and it's still going strong. Longest wheelie I've done is probably a couple of hundred meters. Short and sweet.

Make sure you've got some crash bungs though

The best way to learn is on a motocross bike or something similar in a field, so IF you mess it up it doesnt hurt you or the bike

Have fun
