Sorry to read this Murdo, not much of a mate indeed, most people would be feeling terrible.

Your bike will fix, and hopefully you won't take too long to mend either. Getting a comfortable position to sleep is the worst thing after a bike accident.

As for the insurance, you were passing him to the right hand side and he U turned right, across your path, I'd put that on your insurance form with a wee diagram and keep your explanation that simple and clear cut with no lengthy explanations to confuse matters. I'd make the claim on your insurance and provide his insurance details ticking the "not at fault" box.

He's being a pr1ck and you were not at fault IMO, so long as thats the story you gave to the copper at the time, it doesn't matter what he writes on his form, I can't see the insurance coming to any other conclusion.

and WTF didn't he shake your hand? regardless of fault, a real mate would've had the decency to. Forget HIM if you ask me. you're claiming anyway - let the insurance fight it out.

I'm at the coos tail again - got told by IP when i was being hassled by a bunch of NI drunken neds.
GWS goes without saying
as for him - I'll keep for once
Insurance - thats what you pay for let them work it out don't forget to get a courtesy vehicle if you need it. It will be a tricky situation and its ashame that he that willing to lose a friend over it. Hope it doens't get too bad when the insurers state their decision

otherwise - chin up mate least you are alright - bikes can be fixed easier than you and i personally would rather have you around than your bike!

Ooch, everyone's crashing nowadays. That picture in the OP looks pretty bad. Hope you're ok and get back on 2 wheels soon.

Same here, home contents rocks! I got new lid, boots, back protector and replacement armour for my jacket from the home contents cover. Insurer was Direct Line if that helps.
