To be able to keep to this rule and yet maintain smooth rapid progress must not be an easy thing to master. I can definetely say I may have slipped up on this rule a few times if not more, especially during my eariler months of starting to ride as oppose to now. I would trade the 7 years of car experience I have to bike experience any day!

They average 160kph(100mph) through the bends topping out at 294kph(184mph) on one section and at most they look to have about 2 or 3 bike-lengths between them. Overtaking on blind bends as well!
They do ride it faster than anyone else if I've seen on YouTube. The bloke in front is wearing leathers with a 'Compaq' logo on it. I don't think he's purely a recreational rider... No plates on that bike either.

Not many bikes in SA have plates on them. As for the leathers, I think he'll probably be a trackday nutter or something like that. They appear to know the road quite well as you say. I'm waiting to hear back from my mate who is part of the Think Bike setup in the Gauteng/Mpumalanga area to see if he knows (of) them. It is a very very popular area with plenty of passes through the area. Some parts very undulating as well.
