Nope, I want an EMP gun that disables there engine management computer. If the phone call is so important that they need to risk other people's lives, it's only right that they complete it in peace and quiet without any of that annoying engine noise.

Not quite a phone but I recently saw a chap in a black taxi on a dual carriageway, left hand lane, right indicator flashing away oblivious, so i pass him to find him singing his head off and, yes playing the ukelele (sp?) with both hands! feckin hippy,

Back in the 70s when I passed my car test, my dad then gave me lessons in steering with my knees whilst opening/pouring a flask of coffee. I cringe at the thought now. But in some ways it is the same lack of control hands off the wheel etc. That is used to open a bag of sweets, peel a banana etc. whilst driving.

It is not just phones that lead to poor driving.

Dozy mare couldn't wait for clear access for right turn, so drove in right lane to junction & then swung in - into right lane of THAT road! She had no hope of seeing anything coming out of there ( that's if her eyes were even open!
Needless to say she was on mobile.
First time I've used 101 for plod & dont expect to hear more.

hmm no matter how much we complain nothing can really be done to solve the issue until some people have died, even then they will continue

When the law on mobiles was introduced, it didn't become illegal to use them for some considerable time!
What a crass system for making and enforcing laws.
