Agreed.

My comments were not targeted to you sp1 so please do not take what I said the wrong way. While I am not religious, however I think religion still does have its place in society.

The Panorama program is good for targeting out Islam for having radical sects but is this radicalisation any worse than, lets say, the National Front? The vast majority of Muslims do distance themselves from this kind of behaviour in much the same way that you or I would distance ourselves from the NF.

Yes.

Religion is the basis for morality in any society the world over. While you or I may not consider ourselves religious, by being a law abiding citizen in the United Kingdom you have inherently followed the Christian tenants that our system of law is based on. Off the top of my head I cannot think of a country with a rule of law that has not evolved from religion.

People will always twist any belief to suit their needs or wants (violent or otherwise). This is not evidence of the failure of religion but of the human condition.

Radical behaviour is not unique to Islam, I don't think anybody in this thread disputes this, its just Islam is probably the highest profile religion that has this type of behaviour.

Btw, Dave, I know you wasn't aiming your comments at me, we've been mates long enough for to me to know you would've text me and gave me abuse first lol

Perhaps morality is the basis for religion?
