lol, well I would, but unfortunately, I work full time, have one child, one on the way, and generally have a house I have owned from hard work since I was 23 to run.....think I'll give someone else a chance

Much as I like getting my hands greasy, and can rip a ike fairing off at a moments notice, and start doing basic mechanics, I'm getting a little round to be rolling around on a floor spannering

Personally I would jump at the chance. You get to work with and learn about racing and race vehicles. This is the kind of thing that can lead to working in Formula 1 etc. Personally, I would sacrifice all personal life for it if I was that age again. You CAN NOT rely on simply going to Uni, getting a degree and then walking into a job. It just doesn't happen anymore. This would be the kind of thing that employers look at in the future and set you aside from the rest.

What are you going to miss out on? A few rides maybe, a few car cruises, a few boozy nights out?!?!?! In the future you will look back and realise that all that "socialising" as a youngster is completly pointless, you waste money, you waste time and most people I've met say they are no longer in touch with these "mates".

Nope you aren't capable of being a bum, but what you write here sometimes, gives the impression that all you can ever be is one of them.

I'll tell you something else too, many people like yourself with dyslexic like problems achieve very high things. My brother has a degree in Graphic design, at school he was told he was too thick to do his A levels, so thought screw you, and went to college for several years, to do many courses that built up to what he has now. Very very hard work, social life not great, girlfriend nagging in one ear (funny that cause I did to my ex too) pushed and pulled in all directions.
He doesn't use his degree, but it helped him gain a very cushy job in mental health, that got him a nice house that the Mrs wanted, two nice cars etc etc.

HARD WORK AND TOIL LAD....

Mate, people on here will always glady help anyone out, its one of the things that sets this site higher than most others.

However, most of us on here have worked bloody hard all our lives and sacrificed a great deal. Some of us to even own a motorbike. As such, if you publicly state that you don't think you can commit to something that is possibly one of the best opportunities a young lad will have, then people will not big up your self esteem etc. In fact, most people on here who have "been there, done it, got the t-shirt" etc will actually critique you......as they wouldn't want you to make some of the same mistakes that many of us will have.

You are young. Seize EVERY opportunity you get given.

PS - I'm not being critical....I am just speaking from experience, having thrown a golden ticket away and regretted it ever since. Just trying to help you see that this opportunity is rare and a golden chance to make something of your life. But, only if it is what you want to do.

Hey a hell of a lot of people on here know that I will honestly give an opinion. It may be of harsh content, but I won't lie. I won't up your self esteem if you blatently come on here crowing about being given an opportunity of a lifetime, then in a day or so say, you can't find yourself committing, and you are having doubts about the workload etc etc. My parents showed me how to work for things in life, by bieing fecking harsh on me. I'm not the molly coddling sort, don't believe in poo pooing about, unless there is a cast iron excuse.
Besides Drew has just said what I was going to say.

As for judging a book by its cover, well I probably come across as some grumpy, old, hard headed, opinionated bint, that will slam anyone down. Couldnt care less TBH. One things for sure I've been in and out of the bumpy times in life and got several tshirt, several bikes, and will still come out smelling of bad farts and roses every time. At least I worked hard at it.

All right All right you lot chill the frick out. I think you are being a little harsh. He is a little confused, it takes some thinking to decided to give up your mates and cut down time with girlfriends and its not a light decsion

Quick frankly i'd be concerned if he didnt think twice about it, would mean he is a entirely selfish person. This decision doesnt just effect him and he is right to discuss it with the people in his life

Shame on you lot for being ar$es

see thats the sort of thing that i need to hear, what i dont need to hear is that you come across like a lazy this than and the other.

I dont have the self esteem to start with never mind when it come to things like this, the fact that i found school so hard doesn't instil confidence when it comes to something like this, that requires lots of graft and hard work because i think im going put all of that in and fail any way like i did with most of school
