I think tbh its a massive over reaction. What part in the filming/creative process did the embassy worker in Libya take part in to warrant his death. Absolutely nothing apart from being born American. You have people just as fanatical in America about Christianity. For instance the chopper who made the Video in the first place.
What about the police force in Egypt? They are muslim are they rioting? no! is it because they understand its just a video or because of an oath sworn as a police officer, that's a different question tbh Just a shame that people can be so inflamed from 1 comment or post by an idiot. Trolling level: World Champion Supreme |

You are quite right that the christian rules are quite close to law. However we now have people to enforce the laws made upon these old rules. If you went purely off religion you could rape and pillage to your hearts content and then repent upon your death bed. Now you jst rape and pillage and get community service or a fine lol not saying the world is perfect but to my eyes religion is an old concept and should be forgotten |

Ok using 'basis' and 'society' its still a factually incorrect, sweeping statement.

Or at least difficult to work out if Morality came from religion or religion from morality.
I'd suggest it's more likely that religion adopted a morality already existing in successful societies since differing cultures with small or no contact often had similar morals. |

![]() Voltaire said 'If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him'. Quite an entertaining quote for this discussion! |

It makes sense for people to be naturally moral to each other.
Imagine two traders who had never met but wanted to trade. If one rips the other off he risks reprisal and gaining a bad name, soon no-one would want to do business and he would in the worst case, starve. But gain a good name and reputation and your business will thrive. Do someone a favour and it is likely it will be returned in the future. wrong someone and you will be remembered but not for the right reasons. |
