I'm sorry, I refuse to comment on this thread properly as I can't find the U-rated words to express my feelings. However...

Whilst he has no right to detain your property, you also have no right to destroy his (namely the lock). I strongly urge to you call a locksmith, who will happily open the container (for a fee) without causing damage. When the situation is explained to the locksmith, don't be surprised if they insist on police being present to ensure they're not aiding & abetting a robbery (ie, the police can ensure the bike is registered to you). |

Im not going to go through all 7 pages. You havnt been on the road long enough to be a brilliant rider, and certainly havnt done enough miles on the sv to get used to it completely. Youre allowed to make your own decisions, and i find the comments you mentioned that he said wuite patronising towards you.
Stick with the sv, just get more practice on it. Dropping it doesnt make you an unsafe rider, and the confidence comes with experience. |

This was 11 years ago now though, so the laws might have changed. |

EDIT: Of course, we're assuming that this "container" isn't the type of container I use - if it is, a crowbar wouldn't be able to get anywhere near the lock as they're designed to prevent just that from happening. ![]() I just reckon it's a good idea if the OP goes about things the right way, so they don't get in hot water for it. ![]() Last edited by Baph; 04-04-09 at 10:35 PM. |

Swapping for another bike is stupid..
Locking the bike away from you... Also strange Not understanding that your OH doesn't want you dead... Well whatever it's your bike / relationship.. However any rider with a few years under them will tell you that just because you passed a test doesn't mean you know how to ride a bike.. WARNING DIFFERENT OPINION ALERT Whatever.. To what this bloke has done this part is about peoples harshness.. Everyone else bitch talking about this person when your being told one side only is also harsh as it goes although it appears very possessive what if you felt the same with any of your partners? I guess being scared of recieving a phone call that your other half is sprayed across the road is a crime then.. Maybe not applicable in this case who knows but whatever I just think anyone of us would feel hurt if we stumbled across our other half slating you online to hundreds of people you didn't know on a few forums.. And being advised to leave him?? WTF guys... WTF..!! Why not meet him halfway and do an IAMS course WITH him. There is always more to learn for EVERY rider. Here's what I said... Tell your OH to give you the keys or a copy of so that you have access to your bike or you'll take a crowbar to his lock up to get it out....it's your bike, if he's keeping from you, he's essentially breaking the law. Not actually telling Fenjer to do it. Last edited by gruntygiggles; 04-04-09 at 10:40 PM. |

You should tell him were to go Lol
and if he wants you to be a better rider, then going out on the bike on your own is the best way, because u can improve gradualy and then become a Better rider, And you will have more confidene ![]() |

just had a quick skim of the 7 pages - thanks guys, I'll reply later with more detail etc.
Some of the comments are fair. He did tell me that I took a lot of his comments out of context, but trust me I didn't. I can't see him registering here or looking at this thread tbh, I would probably find myself homeless. I could probably get hold of the container key...and my bike key. The bike is in my name on the V5, so no problem there. Getting the bike out the yard without him or his parents seeing is a different matter though! Hopefully tomorrow's ride out brings some more confident and positive remarks. TY again. X |
