The 1098?
The 999 didn't sell so copy the 916.
Odd that the 999 was intentional not to look like the 916...so people can't say copy.
But now they do...progress...I thought the 999/749 was a pretty motorcycle anyway.

Some pretty hot rear wheel bhp figures on this dyno run from a bog standard 1098. Gets yummier by the minute!

That video is from my local dealer (Moto Rapido) - what a coincidence, I was thinking this morning - 'I have a day off next Wednesday, I wonder if Moto Rapido have got a 1098 in yet '

I always liked the 749/999 look, however still preferred the overall look of the 916 apart from the 916 headlamps - by the time the 998 evolution was out the lamps were starting to look dated . For me the 1098 seems to bring the best of both in the ultimate package.

148bhp at the wheel with stock can & ECU is damn tasty

Forget his waffling enjoy the bike. Early feedback from "normal" riders as opposed to p+nis comparing test riders is that she is one gorgeous bike to ride. Feels a lot more powerful than the 999R, phenomenal brakes and with the slightest weight shift seeing the bike happy to corner on it's ear.....OMFG......the temptation is definitely building......but not yet,not yet!

Anyone whos been up close to the 999 would know it looks stunning. i just hope the 1098 isn't as small as current sportsbikes. not all riders are <5'6"!! does anyone else find themselves struggling for room on modern bikes?
I'm a bit over 5' 6" but find my 'tona a little tall. So here's the deal. You buy the 1098 and if you find it too cramped I'll be willing to take it off yer hands in a straight swap. Now I can't say fairer than that can I. OK?
