Hi to all
I may just be imagining this but I'm sure that on a few occasions now when cornering at low speed I get a whiff of burning rubber, only lasts for a second or two then disappears again. I'm not holding the breaks on while going round or anything but I am leaning a bit. Anybody ever had the same sort of thing or any ideas as to what it might be? |

Has it been raining at the same time as this happens?
Steam coming from the radiator can smell strange if you're not used to it. |

Not raining at the time but the road is a bit damp.

Is there a brick factory nearby?
The A1 near Peterborough used to smell like that |

No factories near by and as far as I know there's nothing on the exhaust. I don't smell it all the time just occasionaly, it's possibale that it's just another car or lorry or something but I just find it a bit odd that it has happened several times.

If the roads are wet/damp and dirty, stuff burns off on the exhaust, I also had the same experience when I first got the bike. I guess the only way to rule it out is to give it a good clean, or leave it running and have a good sniff around (mind your beak on the 'zorst!

Thank's for the input guys, had a look at my boot and trouser leg didn't see anything so looks like I'll be giving the SV a good clean over the weekend, mind you living in the north east of Scotland in July it will most likley be chucking it down, ah well.
Thanks again. |
