Default wire wool or wet and dry brakes

Hi All

Need to change rear brake pads , took a look at pistons tonight and there is quite a lot of surface corrison.

Sprayed some brake fluid while brake is in situ and used tooth brush , will need something more heavy duty

Is wire wool to heavy duty or would wet & dry 1000 be better ?

Cheers Steve

Thanks for the replies

As I am very heavy handed gonna go for 1500 wet/dry then autosol , think wire wool might be a bit dangerous ...

Cheers Steveg

I've used a green scourer with good success.

Is it corrosion or seriously hard crud?If its crud Id go for brake cleaner and elbow grease, but if it is corrosion Id think about overhauling the calipers with new pistons.

I use Scotch Brite and a Brass bristled Spark Plug brush or suede brush .

tesco value cream cleaner on green scourer is almost as good as autosol. A wise man showed me this neat and dirt cheap trick.
