Default datatool gear indicator

I have a datatool gear indicator fitted to my sv650sk4. When i put it into gear it reads either 1 or 2 When in first gear. In neutral it always reads 0. When i'm driving the bike the leds just spin round and round. How do i set it?

Why is there a need for a gear indicator really? I usually know what gear i'm in when cruising by my speed! i.e 3krpm-40mph i'm in 6th cruising, when your hammering it then u go till the gear lever stops goin up haha
I usually subconsciously count the gears anyway as i go up n down

true, although if you use your sv enough you quickly learn the incredible noises your engine makes at different revs :P

A gear indicator is great! Much quicker than doing a calculation in your head based on revs and speed. Also stops you trying to change up or down when you ar already in 6th or 1st. Also good as just a confirmation say, checking you're in the gear you think you are before a corner. Don't knock it til you've tried one.
