I remember this story when it first came out! For that to have happened, the guy must have had some serious learning/mental health problems, so why wasn't there some social work involvement with appropriate adults and the like?

And I am sorry, but how the hell did the warden think it was a blocked toilet? If anyone has smelled decomposing flesh...it does not smell like a toilet!!

It smelt bad enough when my housemate left a chicken drumstick defrosting on top of the fridge for a week at uni.
