Default WD40 On the chain?

is it safe to use wd40 to clean the chain?
i would of course wash the bike after and then relube it.

If I could find the popcorn smiley, I'd post it

Anyway. Personally, I think it's safe but ridiculously expensive. Some maintain it's dangerous. WD40 are on the fence. But since paraffin's incredibly cheap, I just avoid the issue and use paraffin as recommended by the manufacturers.

Even cheaper is to use the search feature

Yeah use paraffin paul. I use white spirit when I have nothing else.

Remove rear wheel and just leave the chain to soak for an hour and scrub with toothbrush then move chain around to next part and leave to soak

I use a scottoiler and never clean my chain.
