can you lot pipe down...trying to sell it to him\\:D/

You being serious???????? We have all seen you drop the thing in a petrol station and also moan about strange sounds from the engine bars........you really think he's gonna buy it???? The only way I think you will sell it is if you can find a slipper wearing, marginally blind, totally deaf bike rider who has a desire to sit astride a vehicular armchair.

PS - Luvs ya man, knows im kidding.......its actually quite a nice bike to ride......

I'll go wash my mouth out!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave20046
27-02-09, 07:07 PM
were you wearing a back protector by the way wide boy?

Wideboy

dizzyblonde

Widepants, its not hard to fracture your spine.

Try not to laugh but I did mine falling off a pair of four inch heels!

Has anything comeback to you yet? or is your memory still a bit vague?

Dave20046
27-02-09, 08:21 PM
Could have happened with the protector, I crashed in my protector I'm still using it ...I probably should have renewed it.

What make of lid was it, did it fit?! so unlucky it came off.

What make and model of lid was it?

You'll probavbly find it came off your noggin because it wasn't the correct fit for your shape of head. I have to be very careful what lid I wear because quite a few can roll off my head when done up tight.

I think it a little fishy that his lid just came off.

How I see events (The Soulkiss Conspiracy Theory)

With the renewed comparisons being made between Prince Harry and James Hewitt, the British Secret Service decided that Harry needs to have his appearance changed.

So when Harry is spotted out on a motorbike, the plan springs into action.

A tranquiliser dart is fired, causing "Harry" to lose control.

It was only on removing the helmet that it was discovered that they had, in fact, a case of mistaken identity on their hands.

So a quick chuck of the lid to the side of the road, and a carefully placed boot to the head and a broken jaw and some missing teeth later and now Wideboy looks less like Harry AND by extension, James Hewitt.

It was also cheaper to use the boot, than the Harley Street surgeon that had been woken up.

So thats what happened - hope this fills in the 30 min blank for you Gav :)

Not trying to scare you mate but get prepared to give them a convincing account of what you 'recall', as when I ran into the back of someone police were straight on the scene trying to arrest me until one logical copper said look don't arrest him he's just been through a speed camera it will have distracted him - so unless we get a photo of him on one wheel through that camera there is no point. Was quite thankful for that guy being there, you just don't need the stress. If that guy hadn't have been confident that I wasn't being an ar$e then they'd be looking into me driving w/o due care or worse. They are very suspicious of bikers.

All I wanted to do was get to hospital!

Wideboy

right had a good look at the bike and well, here's my hypothesis of wtf happened

going round a right hander leaned over, back end looses grip or i leaned over to far and fell off (there is no chicken strip), i some how chinned the floor hence helmet off explains jaw and teeth, the bike then either left the road before it touched the ground or the bike fell on me then left the road (looking at damage and state of leathers), i then continued down the road gathering my injuries before coming to rest on the side of the road unconscious

looking at damage i need:
FR bikini fairing and bracket
front indi's (i have some somewhere)
right mirror
clock surround
right clip on
bar end
front subframe (maybe)
head light cluster
front brake leaver (thank you alpinestar :smt008)
heated tart grip :smt010
front tyre

new: helmet, 2 piece leathers, boots, but my gloves have survived after a second off but will replace them as they are ancient now

some of the paint work may be able to be t-cut with some good stuff and my rad might be able to be un-twisted with some persuasion, and reckon i can cut the zorst down more :smt096

I was actually talking to a mate last night who is training to be a solicitor and works with a law firm, he said that WB should make a case about his helmet as he sees this alot and people are always making cases for the same reason, Lid came off.

There are probably some solicitors on here that might be able to give you some advice.

I doubt you would have lost the back end on an SV. More likely that the front would have gone..... then face planted.

Very strange but also very worrying, if as you say J2UK people are reporting this type of thing quite a bit. Makes you wonder how reliable anyone's lid is, but then I guess that's what road tests are for, they're supposed to check these things before they sell them, yes?

It's quite possible depending on how silly you are being and 101 other factors.

Whether it is back or front sliding makes little difference in this case though!

An ill fitting lid will easily roll around on your head, which I suspect would be the lid manufacturers first arguement.

Its more likely to be a factor, plus a double D ring lid isn't going to come undone in a hurry. I'd understand if it were the other sort, I've gone doen the road a couple of times and realised its not clipped right and come undone.

yeah, when ever I've pulled away and its not been done up it slaps on the side of the helmet so you know its undone, plus when it is done up it holds my neck tube nice and snug so i don't get cold, which i always check
