no, as in riding off down the road:rolleyes:
and no again, occasionally and rarely you do em up, and they have clipped only to find that suddenly it goes loose and its hasn't done up.
Hmm ok, but you'd think the manufacturers would have ironed those little flaws out

like I say, its very rare. You think its clipped in, and its not.
I don't put my gloves on til I've put my lid on, so its nowt to do with having fat glove fingers. Last time it happened was last year on NW3, came out of Aber and thought that feels odd, Pete n Lissa thought there were summat wrong with my bike when I pulled over
A bit like when you clip the dog on the lead only for it not to be if you know what I mean

That might have something to do with why the premium lid manufacturers stick to double D ring fasteners.

Can't say I do, I make damn sure the lead is securely clipped on my dog, can't take those risks with Alsatians lol. Either way, its a shoddy job if the clips fail like that, tis a matter between life and death, or life and severe disfigurement more likely, it should work first time, no excuses.

so do cheapies like Nitro;)
Shark is a well known and good manufacturer, who don't use DD clips. Anyways I ain't getting in the arguement about helmet clips, its happened a couple of times, and a rarity as I've said already

so I heard..

hope you feeling Ok today mr wide boy..
It's quite possible depending on how silly you are being and 101 other factors.
Whether it is back or front sliding makes little difference in this case though!
Yeh. if the back went he either would have highsided or it would have slid right round- if it had slid right round the damage would have been to the back of his helmet. If the front went by either touchin the front brake or just sliding out then i reckon thats why the damage was to the front of the helmet/face
Ehuggggg im soooo hungover :(

well guess we will never know what happened
police phoned yesterday just to say they have no idea what happened, no witnesses, i have no memory, there was no property damaged as it was in middle of no-where, bike has been recovered, so as far as they are concerned its case closed
im still not 100% sure where abouts i came off as its about a 25 miles piece of whindy road
mystery, sort of dont want to know either, the least the better as it might not help mentaly with getting back on the bike

It was aliens,
You was abducted, then anally gang probed, they wiped your memory of such events and then threw you from their air craft, hence the crash as a cover up.

You've been watching too much South Park...
1. lucky
2. v lucky
did they give you the helmet, was it still buckled up?
somtimes if the helmet is not correctly fitting you can pull it off from the back of your head, i think that head shape also determins how easly helmets come off your head.
I came of about 4years ago on the cat&fiddle, left hand corner, fair bit of lean angle light damp conditions, the rear wheel clipped the white line, started to slide out, the foot rest (gilles solid) dug into the road spinning the bike, me infront of bike, bike hit me and gave me a compression fracture in my L1 spine, the wheel run up my back and helmet, i was half under armco with bike a few Ms ahead under armco.
Back protector prolly saved more damage but it could do nothing to protect agains the compression fracture i got as my upper body was pushed into a hunched prosition which caused the problem.
anyway, lucky you got away lightly all things considered.

yep v lucky indeed
i have got the lid was put in the ambulance with me oddly, visor had come off and the rest is just beaten and scrapped looks as thought it came off on first impact and all the rest of the damage is from when it carried on down the road as it was some distance from me, the strap was undone, but obliviously it wasn't me that picked it up and put it in the back of the abulance so anything could have happend to it
Just read this, very nasty, glad you're still with us, hope the recovery goes well. I take it you won't be doing the Barmouth ride then, never mind there will be plenty more. take care and heal quick.

Injuries? He's got no injuries. He smashed up his face, as far as I can see, he should have been paying a surgeon to do it anyway so he saved himself a fortune!! :-D
