View Full Version : Camping !! All Madlanders Must Partake !!
Route looks great OG. Just a thought though, can we make a longer route for the Saturday or have another perhaps smaller ride on the Sunday before heading home and make a proper weekend of it. Don't change plans too dramatically because of me as i still don't know if i can afford this, but just a thought, especailly if people are riding a fair way. Be nice to sample LOTS of different roads... :)

Phil can't see your linkie, but with your expertise & tyre assume you may look at this for Binky ?
Binky, I will be heading home Sunday morning & the ride up/down will be enough I think for my old bones, plus depending on how much beer is consumed over the weekend \\:D/- will play it by ear I think.

Feck knows what's up with my links, they work on my post then disappear when I make it public
Anyway, Yeah I'll take a look at the route to add a few more miles on :)
I think around 180 miles would be ideal as this means we will be back late afternoon which gives us time to chill then have a few pops.
The ride down and back up is enough for me so doubt I'll do anything on the Sunday. Could always take a non mway journey home.
Dave numbers and raping ladies are coming a fair distance so I presume they would want a fairly direct journey home.
What kind of route are you thinking for the ride down per chance? As the crow flies or something a little twisty and adventurous?

For me personally it depends on who is riding down with me, what time we leave etc.
I don't wanna be getting down there at 7pm tbh but also it's a Friday as well and it will be busy on the main roads and mway.
Probably a combo is best, bit of mway, bit of twisties.

Understand if you part-timers wana get gone earlier if you can, I will see if there is a chance to see some "cough" 'customers' on that Friday, but it would be very unusual for the chief to let that happen, he ain't completely daft.
Started praying to the sunshine God for this weekend already, so in 3 weeks time there may be a chance of fine weather if all my sacrifices (chicken, Rabbit & young first born child) goes according to plan.

Nah it shouldn't add any miles to your route really. Just let me know where you intercept the M4(ish) and we can sort something out around there. You've got to head down that way in order to get to the camp site :)

I'll be riding from Essex and will pick up Rabid-daisy en route.

As for a meet spot for all the various commuters, LPH, Binky & Raping Mavis (sorry couldn' t resist it) etc.etc.
Have a look at Jnt.17 M5, just off here there is a big retail centre with Huge Asda/Wallmart, McD, Cinema etc.etc.
Guess most coming across country will do M4, then left onto M5 south, so only a few stops down.
Asda could be a good spot since it will have cheapo fuel, cafe & uber large carpark, we usually stop for grub there on the way sarf when in the van.
Only 200 yds off the Mway, so no detour.
Have a look, sees what ya fink.

Pubs are very close, but im perfectly happy to have cans on site, ill go with the flow.
Ill have my burner as well so sausage or bacon sarnies are achieveable if we all muck in, simple bbq on the night or pub grub, not fussed either way, i thought it might keep costs down for everyone if we 'ruff' it.
The guy told me as its a family site, they are laid back but just requests that noise stops at 11pm, but i think if we are sensible, pitch our tents as far away from anyone else, then we can stay on site with no bother.
He said the beach is 15-20 mins walk but it looks further than that to me.

I assume by 'ruff it' you meant we might have to serve any pre dinner cocktails in plastic glasses not crystal? Do you think the local supermarket will sell mint for the Pimms or should I bring some from the garden?
Is anyone going to be able to boil water so I can have my instant porrige for breakfast as I don't eat bacon or sausage?
You don't eat sausage!!!! whats the point in that!!!
I too will have an engenius water boiling thingamejig.(probably)

Yeah us :)
My plan ATM mate is, danf and Dave numbers are coming to mine and were gonna ride down to meet you en route, is that best place to meet you ?
Didn't realise you were that far down, what time you thinking there ?
If anyone else wants to ride down with us from brum side just let me know and we'll meet you.
I,m not, Worcester is Jnt.7 on the M5 didn't know if we were trying an
en-mass arrival hence the lower meeting point for Making Ladies, LPH etc.
As noted previous, unless I am very luck, won't be out of Worcester 'till 3.30pm at best, so maybe since you are having the day off, maybe you, Dave numbers etc. wana go it alone (:smt115:-({|=:-(:smt022)
