Pete, nope not had that yet. I'll mention it to my physio next time out of curiosity.

I've only actually had one session on my shoulder so far, that was Monday just gone (Oct 10).

It wasn't until that Monday that the doctors (many of them) finally said it was okay to start movement with it after more x-rays and checks. For the 4 weeks prior (since the accident) my physios were told/instructed by the doctors to not do anything with it (except the slightest movement which involved me leaning forward with the arm dangling in front then rotating it in small circles) until they cleared it as it wasn't ready for anything more.

And even though I'm now allowed to move it more and have some specific exercises/movements for it, it is unbelievably weak at the moment. Not much fun really. The fractured pelvis is nothing compared to this silly shoulder.

Although to be fair I feel weak full stop, and not being allowed to lift any weight and being unable to walk for too long (but is getting easier day by day) isn't exactly helping to regain any muscle or strength.

Is that a machine that helps you eat more cake?
If only. I lost a little over a stone and a half while in hospital so if helps me eat more cake and get that weight back I'll try it!

(though I'd rather be able to get muscle mass back rather than gain fat)

Hope you`ve put some weight back on Chris since you`ve been home...... you`ll get there hun, baby steps for now and you`ll soon get your strength back.

Haven`t been on here for a while so have read back to catch up on your progress :D

Sounds like you are on the mend well, only just found out today you work for the same company as my step daughter, small world eh? She was describing this person who had had an accident and the timeline was seeming too co-incidental, hope you are as speedy on the road to recovery as you are on the actual road!

Honestly Claire, not more than a couple of pounds (and that might just be normal weight fluctuation) in the past 2 weeks. And that's eating decent meals every day and snacking a lot more than I did pre-accident. The noticeable losses to me are muscle from my legs and arms. But right now not even gaining any fat to make up the weight difference.

And Brettus you've got me curious who that is now as I'd no idea! Small world indeed.

Don't look so worried. You aren't in danger of becoming my step-son-in-law ;-)
She hasn't been there that long in all honesty, Will PM you her name.

I know I've not posted in this much lately (been speaking to people directly just haven't got round to this thread for one reason or another), anyway here's a quick latest update.

Went to the hospital for more x-rays on the left arm (with the metal plate/pins). The bone still hasn't fully healed! One side is apparently fine, but the other still has a tiny hairline fracture. Good news is I don't need a proper cast on, so after 8 weeks it's finally off. In place of it I have a wrist brace to support it for another 4 weeks. Lower arm is extremely stiff and a little sore when trying to twist/rotate my wrist, but that's expected and will be back to normal given time.

And now it's off I can see the scar... a little disappointing that this is all I have to show for the accident! :p

That is a really rubbish scar for all the effort you put into crashing. That isn't going to impress any girls is it? I bet I have a better one after my op next week, and my elbow was so horrible that my manager asked me to cover it up during lunchtimes as it put him off his sandwiches.

I am pleased to report that Christopher has recovered sufficiently to push me round in my wheelchair and drink enough lager to give himself hiccups.
