All four ways into West Meon end at a traffic light controlled crossroads. The camp site/pub is on one corner of said crossroads.

Hi all. Just to lower the tone...

Please can someone post more details about the toilet facilities?

I understand we can use the pub toilets while the pub is open - does this mean not before midday-ish?

In which case, will there really only be only 1 port-a-loo to cope with the 'out of hours', erm, digestive output of dozens of Orgers?

I know no.1s are of no concern to the blokes who can happily stand at the side of a field and pee in comfort - but it is a bit difference for the laydeez.

Just wondering, how much are they and could we not have two.?

To keep this AR as free the budget wont stretch to 2 portaloos.

Pub is open until midnight, Loomies is open at 0600, somewhere between those hours I would imagine you'll do some sleeping. So six hours - sleep x 2 nights, the portaloo should barely be used!

Littlepeahead
04-02-13, 04:08 PM
I don't think an AR has ever started at 9am - it's not a boot camp after all! If you start at 9am you'd have to do the briefing at 8.30am. Plus you need to allow for people to get fuel before the briefing if they arrived late on the Friday. Any provision made for coffee and tea pre-the start? I know we had a full on breakfast option at Essex and in Wales but coffee is a minimum requirement.

The route timing is always tricky. You do it with 2 or 3 of you and it takes you 4 hours. Do it with a big group unfamiliar with the rads, or on a day when it rains and you can easily add a couple of hours to that.

I'd rather pay to attend and have some refreshments and more toilets. Something being free isn't really a selling point for me if I'm spending a weekend in a field.

It's all in hand so don't worry, Markers to be briefed at 0900, riders brief 0930, ride start 1015-1030. Ride will end where it starts as to when very much depends on the day, number of riders, road conditions etc etc....

As to fuel on the Saturday morning, there is a petrol station approximately 50 yds from the campsite!;)
