In fact you can't go in any direction apart from over the fields without running across a petrol station quite shortly.

It's losers is irritating but not an issue.

I thought that was the only reason most of us are coming?

I'm getting a flight back from the US on Friday now to try and get there in time for a go in the back of Gav's van. May be a bit jetlagged* so not sure if that may affect the experience but nothing ventured nothing gained!

*This all depends on me persuading Lady Poppy to take me down in the car as I doubt I'll be awake enough to ride. Let's hope she doesn't see this thread first...

nothing to do with splashing out on a go-pro then :D

It only technically cost me £30 cos i sold the other one and some other stuff to fund it.

Annoying thing is, i rushed buying it thinking i could use it for the AR, but then i saw what i was getting payed and a little bit of me died inside.

Actually money would originally have been invented to stop us having to cart goods around all the time when we needed something we didn't make ourselves.

Killing each other for food would have been more likely to have been solved by something along the lines of good irrigation, the implementation of the three field system and the horse collar creating an increase in supply.

And that's where we've all gone wrong. I never take payment for my photography but in return for doing photos I've had a brilliant massage at the beauty salon, a case of wine, a day at Wembley, and gig tickets.

I haven't told Job, Simon and Mr Spanky yet what I'm expecting in return for doing the photos at AR this year :D

If you can find the money for fuel, the rest of the weekend is about the same as sitting at home. You don't need to eat pub food, hell you can bring 1Kg of cooked pasta & sauce in a tupperware tub and just eat that for the weekend.

If you were going to need to buy a tent or sleeping bag etc just post up on here what you're short of, a number of us have plenty of this sort of stuff in the attic.

If you genuinely can't afford it then I'm sorry to hear it, as I've most definitely been at a point where I couldn't afford petrol. It sucked.

Me, Jammy, Fallout, Spank and DaddyJob, did the route today (well I did half as I had to go home early for my tea) ;-)
Blinding route, Nadgery, Fast and Twisty. Dodgy cambers, steep uphill and downhill, bit of everything really. Great scenery and the weather was perfect today.

Well up for this now!!

I was working yesterday photographing a load of rich bankers trying to pretend they could play cricket. They were OK but the 4 female organizers were having a competition to see who could be the biggest bitch to our staff. All I wanted to do was be off on my bike. Reading that only made me feel more grumpy I lost a day of my weekend.

You mean you haven't done a deal with the weather Gods??

What sort of AR are you guys running??

It doesn't require much apprently - only a single sacrifice of someone local to the required location is usually required - obviously a multiple sacrifice would be better if the personnel are available (willingness isn't important)

If you aren't able to arrange anything beforehand - perhaps this could be part of the Friday night entertainment?

PyroUK
05-06-13, 07:43 PM
ok that buggers that idea then, they are great there and would give you a loaner. i always used to go to verwood but it was too much of a manic rush to get there so use charminster now. i digress...whenever i have a service i book it in the week, drop the bike off day before, get a loaner and pick it up the next day.

verwood should be able to do that otherwise use southampton mate, they are all the same, not like a split franchise thing so its all good

Gimerk
05-06-13, 07:52 PM
That's pretty good as it goes! I didn't ask as I didn't think they'd do a loan bike overnight. I used to get my FZ6 serviced at Parkroad Powerbikes in Shirley (Yam dealer) - they didn't do loan bikes :-( Might look into it...

Yeah, the Bournemouth ones are great, helps that they are really friendly and use em for all my bike work.

Never dealt with Southampton ones but sure they are similar!

When I use Verwood it's a bandit or the faired bandit and when I use charminster it's a diversion.

Can't remember if Southampton is a Suzuki or yam but it will likely be one of those two! Def worth looking in to as the sat is effectively one big ride with a lunch and some fuel stops
