Re: 2016 SV650 & New Rider

Nitron haven't had a L7 SV650 in to see what shock will fit, so if anyone's in the Witney area and fancy them seeing what is the one for our bikes, their post code is OX28 4XZ and the phone number is...

Re: new MT-09

I prefer the XSR version as well.

I think that the 2017 MT-09 has the same suspension as the XSR has, from what I've read in the tests in the magazines.

Re: 2016 SV650 & New Rider

I swapped the original tyres for Michelin PR4's. Much more confidence inspiring in the damp.

I'd guess that a rear shock that'll fit an ABS equipped SFV650 ie Gladius will fit our bike. Not tried...

Rear shock options?

I have the perception that the rear shock on my SV650 2016 (naked) isn't the greatest bit of kit, and on bumpy roads reduces my confidence in the bikes handling. As there's a lot of similarities...

Re: Stupid oil checking question

The tank filler flap etc area on a 2016 naked SV isn't level when the bike's balanced vertical ;)

Re: 5,000 and counting.

And both mine started to flash at 14 range as well  Had almost done 200 miles and not wanting to see how easy the bike is to push, filled up at the nearest garage.

Noticed as well that...

Re: 5,000 and counting.

Noticed yesterday that the fuel pump started flashing at 37 miles to go, which as I'm getting an easy 200 miles means to my calculations that the range is 20 to 30 miles short of the run dry figure....

Re: Stupid oil checking question

Though if there's a breeze it'll blow any petrol fumes away if you drop the bike and some leaks out

After seeing the inspection mirror, and contemplating on achieving the nirvana of...

Re: 2016 SV650 Tail Tidy

I had the R & G tail tidy on, certainly get proof of how clean the road was if you ride out when it's wet :-(

Fitted the original plastics back on as I've just fitted my pannier and top box racks...

Re: 5,000 and counting.

Did the range to go go to zero, or was almost a zero when they both flashed Geoff?

Out on the bike today and a mix of riding speeds saw a consumption of 15 miles per litre, which gives a range of...

Re: looking for windshield for sv 650 A 2017

I'd like to buy the Givi one:

as it looks right, ie not too high or bulky (all in my opinion ) but Givi...

Re: 5,000 and counting.

Currently I'm getting about 200 miles easily when adding the miles done since refill onto the range to go. Have you ridden the bike until both the petrol pump sign and the last fuel level dash are...

Re: MOT and Temp Tyre Repair

Does the MOT tester know about the repair?

I've heard of those type of plugs lasting thousands of miles, but how much contact do you have between the ground and you? Personally I'd get the tyre...

Re: 90 wgt gear oil as chain lube.

I have a stock of the Scottoiler oil, so in the UK have been using their blue oil. I'd say the tyre gets minimal oil throw, though the wheel shows a little.

I like the TUTORO as it's very easy to...

Re: 90 wgt gear oil as chain lube.

I've got the automatic TUTORO oiler fitted to my L7. Tie wrapped it to the pillion footrest, which might not work if I was to take a pillion! I've read on the Scottoiler facebook page that with...

Bought a new shape ie L7 SV650 a couple of months ago at Cupar, and got about 2000 miles on it so far. Ditched the non-stick Dunlops and fitted PR4's. Also fitted the Eastern Beaver 3CS electrical...
