engine crash bungs
Does anybody know if any additional engine support is required when removing the engine mounting bolt to fit the new bolt for crash bungs such as Evo Tech ?

Re: engine crash bungs
I don't know the exact model of crash bung personally, but from the times I've removed crash bars and engines from SV's I'd say no additional support needed. Just do it one bolt at the time if its a multi bolt system.

Re: engine crash bungs
It is just one long bolt that goes right through the engine being replaced by one longer bolt to take the crash bungs.

Re: engine crash bungs
In which case having done ones like that before I'd happily remove and replace without any additional support.

Re: engine crash bungs
I would take nut off and use new bolt to tap / push old one through, that way there will be no danger of anything moving because one bolt has been removed completely....

Re: engine crash bungs
Thanks for replies. I have seen cheaper, jaybee I think ,which project 103mm from frame which I think might not be long enough as radiator projects quite a bit, or evo tech which are more expensive but project 130mm from frame. !?

Re: engine crash bungs
Thank you, that's what I did on a Honda cbf1000fa but there was some resistance when pushing the bolt through ,but maybe that was because I put a block of wood on a jack under the engine.
