Default Top Gear for bikes

Sitting on the sofa with the wife and she asked why isn't there a Top Gear for bikes. Is there such a show and if not, why not?

There have been shows of the ilk but they were low budget and I struggled to watch them..

Nothing that I'm aware of but I'm sure there could be a spin off given that Richard Hammond likes his bikes...

And new presenter Matt Leblanc has ridden most of his life too.

Because we don't need to be told what fun they are

Bikes are dangerous, bikers ride dangerously fast, all the time, everywhere! Can't have a TV show encouraging that sort of thing can we?

There are or have been a few bike shows recently, "the Motorbike Show" with Henry Cole or "Bike World" which might have become "Bike Channel" (or the other way around) that was fronted by a male and female duo on one of the obscure satellite channels.

None of them were "Top Gear for Bikes". They both had their advocates and critics.

The real question is though, do we want a Top Gear with bikes?

I guess the phrase Top Gear was the wrong one to use. But a show that gives the viewer a sense of what bikes are out there, how they perform etc. I did watch Bike World but I couldn't get on with the presenter as he seemed to moan all the time.

Bikers are a minority and a fairly small niche market. We therefore only get the odd program on non mainstream channels.
Im fine with that.Keeps the riff raff away.
